camp horizon

Camp Horizon is designed specifically for middle school students to experience camp in a way that fits their age and stage of leadership development. This program offers opportunities for students to serve, participate in camp games and worship, and build community with peers. 

Camp for Middle Schoolers

Camp Horizon is Camp Vertical for students entering 7th and 8th grade! It is a perfect combo of the fun camp games that they know and love, high-energy activities, and bible-based teaching and worship tailored for their specific age and stage of life. 

Leadership

Middle Schoolers are young people on the Horizon of leadership. Camp Horizon gives them an opportunity to dip their toes in the pool of leadership by discovering who they are, and how their gifts may be used in the world around them.

Discipleship

As part of the camp day, students will take a deeper dive into learning what it means to be a follower of Jesus. They will have specific opportunities to learn and practice spiritual disciplines like worship and prayer.

Serving

Paired with fun, camp activities, students will have a chance to serve in various places at Camp Vertical, Elmbrook Church and even in the local community.

Camp Horizon will create a space where middle school students can experience the ministry of Jesus Christ through faith, friendship, and fun in a fresh way. We’re excited to welcome them into this journey of growth and leadership!

Camp Horizon schedule

Camp Horizon follows the regular Camp Vertical day. During activity group time, Camp Horizon will have a variety of activities, including leadership development, discipleship time, and of course, beloved camp games and activities.

Camp Horizon checks in from 9:00-9:30 and checks out from 3:30-4:00 on the North Parking Lot. Students are welcome to join morning extended care starting at 7:30am or stay for afternoon extended care until 5:30pm for $7.50 per session.

There is a registration fee of $120 per week of camp for all teens who are joining us at Camp Horizon to cover registration costs. There will be a $25 non-refundable deposit required upon registration.

  1. Decide which weeks you want to attend Camp Horizon (Students may join for up to 8 weeks)

  2. Register for Camp Horizon on or after February 3

  3. Be prepared to fill-out the medical/release portion of this online form
